Started working here couple months ago so far excellent company. Pay is OK could be better but have new equipment and friendly dispatchers. Plan to be here a while. No regrets coming here.
Some of the worst drivers I have ever seen! There were 2 in the canyon, south of ST George, on I15, that were tailgating, and bullying cars out of their. I tell the guy in the rear to smile for by dashcam, as he passes by me and deliberately cuts me off and then goes on to tail gate another car. Got everything on my dash cam.
These guys are complete scam artist I would not recommend them to my worst enemy
I just worked at Gurney for a little over a year. Started in August 2012 and then left in December of 2012. Really wanted to find a local job, you know like home every night. Couldn't find that perfect local job, so called Gurney the last part of February 2013 and asked if I could come back, they said yes. Started running recycle trash from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, a good run. Then they (Gurney) leased the truck on with Martin Transport and I haul mostly cheese to mid-west, Texas, and back west. A great run, with plenty of miles. The only problem was that Martin's reefer trailers were wore out and super noisy plus would not cool down to -20 degrees for hauling Blue Bunny ice cream. If I would have had a good reefer trailer I wood still be hauling the cheese. Went back to hauling dry van, no further then Denver, Colorado, then back to Los Angeles and wood run up to Sparks, Nevada with Ashley furniture, This Ashley run to Sparks was great. Gurney has great equipment. Mostly Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. Has 13 speed transmissions, 455 horse motor, 60 inch sleepers, with a bonus of satellite radio. They have a good medical and dental plan for the family. Gurney trys to get the driver home every weekend, and in most cases does so, However trucking being what it is not always possible to get home on a regular basis. But Gurney does try hard to please the driver and keep them at the company for the long haul. If you live in or around Aurora or St George, Utah this would be a great company for you and still have a family life. Also Gurney runs out out Las Vegas a real plus to those living there.
